Do you already have your PADI Open Water Dive license or from any other diving association? Then go a step further and advance your scuba diving skills. In the Advanced Open Water Diver Course, you will repeat some exercises and learn new ones like navigating and considering when deep diving. The program is very practical; there is no theory test. You can also start the course immediately after you finished your Open Water Diver if you want.
El Nido is perfect to become an Advanced Open Water Diver. We will observe stunning marine life during our dives and navigate impressive limestone cliffs from dive site to dive site.
As an Advanced Open Water Diver, you will be more confident with your buoyancy and your equipment. Also, you can dive deeper than before. More dive sites around the world are accessible for you with higher certification.
Theory
The PADI Advanced Open Water course theory:
Each dive has a chapter dedicated to it in the Advanced manual. In order to prepare for each dive, you will independently study the chapter in question plus complete the related exercises in the knowledge review section.
For the theory, you have 2 different options :
The PADI Advanced eLearning: Studying back home is the best option. You will complete the theory online before arriving in El Nido. It’s more comfortable to move through the program efficiently and at your own pace. You have access to interactive presentations that include videos, audios, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress and review or correct anything you might miss.
How to subscribe? Just book with us! To be able to do so, we ask for a 50% down payment through Paypal. An account is not required. A credit card is enough. Once your booking confirmed, your eLearning access code will be sent to you. It’s safe, easy and makes sure space is available. Space is limited and may sell out for the dates of your vacation. The PADI Advanced Manual: You can study here in Our Dive Center independently with your manual. Once you have signed for your course, you get your own PADI AOW Manual Book -that you will keep-. Before diving, your instructor will then review the exercises with you, expand on the key points and give you a briefing on each chapter

Now, you’re in El Nido,! The day before the start of your course, you will meet with your instructor complete the E-Learner Quick Review, fill out the documents and Prepare your equipment.
All Done? The it’s time to dive!
Deep Dive and Navigation are compulsory dives. Since neutral buoyancy is one of the most important skills of a scuba diver, we also made Peak Performance Buoyancy mandatory. For the two remaining adventure dives, you may choose from a number of options based on your personal interests and preferences. We recommend that you try exciting options such as Search & Recovery, Digital Underwater Photography, Fish Identification, Drift Dive or Nitrox.
What you’ll learn: All dives start with a through briefing when your instructor states the objective of the dive, skills you will practice and procedures you will do. What follows depends on the adventure dive chosen, but usually it involves underwater exercises and exploration.
Deep Dive: Practical aspects of deep diving and the physiological effects of deeper scuba diving
Peak Performance Buoyancy: Buoyancy and streamlining techniques
Navigation: How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time
Enriched Air: How to get more dive time by using Enriched Air Nitrox How to analyze Enriched Air oxygen
Drift Dive: How to use your drift diving equipment and how to deal with of aquatic currents
Night Dive: Practical aspects of night diving and the different uses of your flash light
Digital Underwater Photography: Learn the basics of taking good photos under the water.
Search and Recovery: Learn different how to look for object under the water and bring them up to the surface.
AWARE – Fish identification: Learn how to distinct different fish families.
Underwater naturalist: This dive focuses more on the coral and plant life under the water.

Important Reminder(s)
- Visit the dive shop the night before you dive for orientation and paperwork before 7pm.
- El Nido Eco-Tourism Development Fee (ETDF) requires all tourists to pay PHP200 before going to any tourist destination within El Nido. This one-time fee will be valid for 10 days ( Not Included on the Price above)
- Settle the outstanding of the unpaid bill.
- Please do not bring any single-use plastic on the Trip!
